On November 28, 2023, Abu Dhabi’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) made a announcement at an exclusive launch event in the UAE capital, introducing AI71—a new powerhouse in the realm of AI. This R&D-driven company is set to rival the services and innovations of major players like OpenAI and other leading AI labs.
AI71 emerges as a result of the dedicated AI research and development initiatives carried out by the Technology Innovation Institute. Its primary focus revolves around marketing and providing support for the Falcon large language model (LLM), which was earlier unveiled by TII this year. The company’s core mission is to harness AI capabilities in addressing the most critical global challenges.
This new venture arrives with a trio of vertical platforms—LAW71, RAZI71, and ASK71—with promises of more to follow in the future.
During its inauguration, AI71 disclosed several significant partnerships, including collaborations with Hub71 for startup ecosystem engagement, World Wide Technology for custom infrastructure, PwC for solutions development, Amazon Web Services (AWS) for compute power capacity, and CNTXT for data labelling and annotation.
The formation of this innovative entity stems from the ATRC’s technology commercialization arm, VentureOne.
