Google is introducing some exciting generative AI features in the Chrome browser with its latest v121 update. Here’s a breakdown of the announced features:
Generative AI features in the Chrome browser
Tab Organizer:
Chrome will now automatically suggest and create tab groups based on the user’s open tabs.
This feature is particularly useful for users handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Chrome will suggest names and emojis for these tab groups, making it easier for users to find them later.
Custom Wallpaper and Theme Generator:
A text-to-image diffusion model, previously available on Pixel 8 series, is now coming to Chrome.
Users can create custom wallpapers by inputting the subject, mood, visual style, and color preferences.
Additionally, users can generate custom themes to personalize their browsing experience further.
‘Help Me Write’ Feature:
This gen AI-powered feature assists users in creating well-articulated messages or writing reviews without grammar mistakes.
Users can right-click on a text box or field on any site in Chrome, select “Help me write,” and input a few words to kickstart the writing process.
All these features will be part of the v121 update for Chrome on Macs and Windows PCs, gradually rolling out in the US over the next few days. To access these features, you can sign into Chrome, go to “Settings” from the three-dot menu, and navigate to the ‘Experimental AI’ page. For Tab Organizer, users can right-click on a tab and select “Organize Similar Tabs.”
